USC Office of Religious & Spiritual Life
United States
Приєднався 13 сер 2013
The University of Southern California's Office of Religious & Spiritual Life began in 1996 under the direction of Rabbi Susan Laemmle, Dean Emeritus. Since that time, the Office has grown to over 100 spiritual and religious organizations encompassing the many traditions of the world. The ORSL sponsors a variety of opportunities for exploring the spiritual dimensions of your life and learning. We can help you find a religious home base or form a new group, handle an ethical dilemma or research a paper topic. The Office sponsors campus programs with a moral, religious or spiritual focus. It co-sponsors events with other university units and partnerships of student religious groups. And we are there for the entire USC community in times of celebration and loss, to offer benedictions at university convocations and to help organize memorial services as needed.
This channel displays the diversity of our campus through speakers series and various events throughout the school year.

Great storytelling. I fled Vietnam by boat at the age of 14 in 1981 to come to America without my parents and was placed in a foster care system. I had to learn to be mature very quickly on my own and appreciate what America offers. I joined the Navy right after college in 1990 and retired after 30 years of service. I was a devout Catholic growing up in Vietnam and drifted away from my faith when I came to America but had a profound conversion experience 16 years ago, so I am now a born-again Catholic.
Mb id like to study it 4real... im more into mythology & interested into some religious movements...

Hinduism is forcefully termed as a religion. But it is a philosophy and rather a way of life. Just follow morality. And it accepts you even if uou are theist or even atheist.
I just read this wonderfully succinct yet richly drawn double biography. If you want to know what makes Filipinos tick beyond their love of a specific singer or any genre of music, this book is an invaluable key. Prof. Tongson is an incisive, gifted and elegant writer. I hope to hear again from her soon. Perhaps about Filipino Diaspora - a long, complicated, dynamic history and its impact in every corner of today's world.
This title is enough to make me excited to listen!
My dear brotha. ❤
❤💛💚
Rest in Peace

Wait, back then in the 1990s, Buddhist studies as a field is a bunch of machismo men stabbing each other in the back so they can publish first on compassion? this is very quotable!
Do you study all the horrors, misery and death perpetrated in the name of religion? Like burning witches and "heretics" at the stake? Or the extent to which religion is forcibly and dogmatically imposed on people including the forced conversions of indigenous peoples. I'll bet that's not in your curriculum.
you dont need religion to empathic, and human. Religon has been used for nothing but Pain, Segration and Death.
And oppression and slavery. That never seems to get talked about in RE class. In defiance of history they focus on the warm and fuzzy stuff and then claim they are being "unbiased".
Allah revealed this to me: "Islam is the fastest imploding religion in the world, as more and more Muslims are realising that Mohammad and others (breakdown given below) fabricated the Quran to persue their own personal agendas. Islam is nothing but 7th century Arabic tribalism. Muslims are much better and bigger than this oppressive ideology. I love all Muslims as people, but dislike the Supremisist Quranic Ideology they follow". 1000% support to all Ex Muslims, from 7 billion of us (includes many Muslims)...Lovers of Truth. Breakdown of Quranic inputs as reaveled to me by Allah... 10% Mohammad 30% Plagerised from Christian, Jewish and Pagan texts. 58% Added on after Mohammad. 1% by Satan ( Mohammad himself reaveled this. He later removed them). 1% Eaten by a goat (as reaveled by Muhammad's wife Ayasha...he married her when she was 6years and he was 53years). 0% by Allah. 👍
It is interesting how a lot of this boils down to a kind of standpoint theory. That's not really present in his published work.
Also interesting how, given several moments for self-reflection, he gets very dark. I wish him well.
Beautiful Water Festival 4🎼🎼🎼🎉🎉🎉
Dr. Aslan should realize that the reason Pantheism is not successful in idea of worshiping is the fact that, that kind of God which is equal to all, could not be used as a character in a narrative.

WHAT A DISGUSTING AND VIOLENT RELIGION.
Boy this is 😊
Why do you assume there even is a god?
Thousands of years of evidence in scripture that is still coming true to this day. Why do you assume there isn't?
@@shiggydiggy2415There is?
Thank you for an insightful overview- I’ve come to learn more about Christian contemplative practice from reading Thomas Merton, but wondered if there were certain books or authors you would recommend?
Sounds good! 👍👍
This rhetoric is so vilely inaccurate and toxic for our society.
Very interesting place for inner silence and connect with higher dimensions ! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for this. I found it helpful

So I was just about to adopt the name Coding for Christ for my Discord and UA-cam and eventually a business name but since its so similar to your group/company I will change it. Awesome that yall coding for Christ though. Is your app released on the Google play? Love the simple but nice design . UI on point!
Why would God be with the Dead? God is with Dead People? Makes no sense! It is like looking for God in a cemetery! Wait, is that why we see Ghosts in Cemeteries and dead old houses? Ghosts feel no pain or suffering, know no hunger or thirst! And they "live" forever! Heaven! Clearly God is with the Living! God is with US!
ua-cam.com/video/IVu9FNvIuZk/v-deo.html
Nobody gets to live forever; we are not immortal. That is delusion and wishful thinking.
@@socksumi Right, so religions promising an eternal life are cheating their followers These fools will end up as Ghosts Yes they will get their eternal "life" Get to live in a Mansion - old, creepy and dusty but a Mansion No work, no worries No pain, No suffering No hunger, no thirst And since they are already dead, they will get to "live" forever! One day the Sun will gobble up the earth, even the sun will burn out one day and even the universe will be a cold, dead place But these Ghosts will be still hanging around where the Earth once used to be So much for Greed overtaking common sense and intelligence

Wow, i saw the picture adn i was like no, but i am in search for God, you said that as well at the beginning AMILLION THANKS TO YOU RESPECTFUL MAN. MY birthday is tomorrow InschaAllah and as a gift i got a ticket to study Islam Online - for free. :)
Muslims always pushing their religion Then you come to the west, face discrimination and suddenly it is "we should not judge people based on religion. We are all equal, we all have the same hopes and dreams, we should treat everyone equally" Where do those morals go?
And Christians always pushing their religion since the natives, and now the morals seem to line up with the ones you just stated. Where do those morals go? Dont ask stupid questions@@ramaraksha01
I'm happy to know that this is happening at University. I hope covid-19 clears up so you all can continue the good work ❤️🙏
